For those who want a taster workshop or can’t attend a weekly class I offer a one day weekend workshop to learn the basic skills required to make mosaics, with all tools and materials supplied. This gives enough time to create a wall piece, (approximately 8”x 8”) the shape and design of which you will choose yourself.

Workshops are open to complete beginners over the age of sixteen.

I will contact you a week before the workshop to chat through what you would like to make so that I can prepare your base board in the shape that you have chosen. You may wish to have a board cut out in the shape of a rabbit or an elephant, or it may be a simple rectangle or a circle. You may have a fixed idea about your project or I can offer you guidance on the size and design that you are able to complete in a day.

You will choose from a treasure trove of materials those you would like to work with and be guided on how to use the tools provided.

I will supply refreshments and you can either bring your own lunch, eat at the cafe on site, or nip to the local shops for food.

By the end of the day you will have finished sticking on all the pieces and I will demonstrate how you grout your piece at home, once the glue has had adequate time to dry. This process is very simple and I will provide you with the grout and instructions you need to do it.

I run approximately six public weekend workshops throughout the year which I advertise on my facebook page, AnnaDixonMosaics under Events.
